It is with very sad hearts we have had to say goodbye to a true friend and our brother. David Schultz passed away on March 24, 2023, with no warning due to a heart attack. He passed away unexpectedly at the Victoria Hospital.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, his father Willard Schultz and his mother Millicent (Thom) Drewlo . He is survived by his two brothers, Jim Schultz (Merlie Schultz); nephews Christopher Schultz, Mark Schultz and (Ingrid Hougen); niece Ana Leah Arellano (Rio Arellano); and his younger brother Peter Schultz (Michelle Nadeau); along with numerous nieces and nephews, many cousins, and his large and dear circle of friends.
Many of Dave’s friends were from his elementary school days but he picked up many new friends along the way as well because he had a heart that was so big and a tender spirit that was appreciated by all who knew and met him. David loved playing music throughout his life, computer programming became a passionate hobby in his retirement. He always loved to go to family dinners when they happened.
Special thanks go to Pat Hallstead whose kindness will never be forgotten. Warm thanks go to Cindy and Wayne Elliot for all their love and support too.
David was cremated and a burial and Celebration of Life are being planned for late June or July.
Our brother was our best friend and we were lucky to share this life with him. We miss him so deeply already, but he left us with so many good memories. He had a good heart until the end.

Dave this not a good bye, but a thank you for being my best friend over the 20+ years
We were brunch buddies, and i looked forward to our weekend breakfasts. We were well known at the Seine Cafe and of course our favourite Garwood.Grill. You would always order the BIG Breakfast,, but surprised me when you ordered Fish and Chips just a few weeks ago. Just needed a change up
Your biking was your passion, and i was i in awe when your road to the Seine Cafe on Provenche Blvd from your Tuxedo apt.
Thank you for lending your ear when i was going through tough times,, Sometimes i could not remember if i had already talked about the same conversation,, but you politely said that i had .
There are many memories i have of you and i will not forget you.

Throughout the years I have had many stimulating conversations with Dave. He was a good friend and I will miss him.
My friendship with Dave goes back over 50 years. Both Carol and I loved him most dearly. I first Dave when he was auditioning for a shot-lived band, Jolly Rodger, of course he blew everyone away. Our friendship continued even after Carol and I moved to Calgary in 1981. We always looked forward to our visits when either we returned to Winnipeg, pretty much yearly, or when you came out our way.
Some of my fondest, or most intense, memories include Dave and I will relate three of them here.
1) When Carol threw a surprise 50th birthday party for me and Dave, Daryl and Ralph came out to Strathmore for it.
2)When Carol was dying of cancer and Dave come out to say his goodbyes to her, he was the last person to say them to her as she passed a week after his visit. Normally I left her alone with the person saying their goodbyes but with Dave I just happened to be in the room when their conversation took place. It brought me to tears at the time and it still does today.
3) My final one is when both Dave and Ralph made it out for my marriage to Sandy. It was, for me anyway, a highly emotional time and I was so happy to have both Dave and Ralph there to share it with me.
There are countless other times that i could recount but those three stand out so vividly to me.
Dave you are deeply missed and my life is a little more empty because of your passing.
