Cecile Alice Marie Margaret (St. Onge) Lowry

Picture of Cecile Lowry

November 7, 1946 – December 24, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our adored wife, mother, Gramma and Mémère. On Thursday, December 24, 2020.

Cecile passed away peacefully in her home, with her husband and two daughters by her side, at the age of 74 years, following a courageous and heroic battle with brain cancer.

Cecile will be lovingly remembered and missed by her beloved husband Keith, of 48 years; her daughters, Jennifer (Jayson) and Karen (Jamie); her four grandsons, Devin, Jesse, Cameron and Andrew; as well as her siblings, Yvonne, Louise, Dolores, Rene, George, Leon, Ben, Tony, Bob, and many nieces and nephews. She also held a special place in her heart for her sister-in-law Laraine. She was predeceased by her parents, Alice and Roger, her brother Bert, and sisters, Diane and Jeannine.

Cecile loved all of her family and friends so very much. Her smile lit up rooms and you knew instantly how much she loved you when you received one of her warm hugs. Cecile and Keith had a love for each other like no other, as so many of us had the privilege of being a part of. Her laugh, her shared love of birds and owls with her husband, her zest for life and nature, exploring our beautiful province, her love for her daughters and grandsons will forever shape our wonderful memories she has lovingly left with us.

She is gone
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live your life yesterday.
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind,
Be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Mom would want us to celebrate her life, and remember the wonderful times we had together.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place. Once weather and restrictions permit, an outdoor Celebration of Life will be held.

Thank you to those that gave extra care and time to Cecile during her illness. We would like to thank the staff at CancerCare Manitoba that took care of Mom during her many visits. Thank you to the palliative care nurses that made sure Mom was well taken care of at home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Forever our Angel, “WE LOVE YOU MORE!”

Keith, Jennifer and Karen
