May 19, 1946 – January 16, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carole Olson on January 16, 2025 at Donwood Manor Personal Care. She was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. She was predeceased by her mother Margaret in 2000 and her father William in 2015.
Carole spent her early years growing up in Charleswood where she attended Royal School and Charleswood Collegiate. She was a superb runner winning many ribbons for her school and division. Carole also enjoyed the many family gatherings at “the house” on Scotland Avenue where family and friends gathered every weekend to visit with Baba and Geigo, aunts, uncles and cousins, (especially Judy who became her best friend throughout her life).
Carole was a huge sports fan. She loved her Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers, but she also loved watching tennis cheering on Roger Federer. She had hoped one day to attend Wimbledon.
Carole is survived by her two children, Jason and Cathleen. She has many grandchildren who will remember her fondly and will miss her greatly. Carole is also survived by her sister Patricia Grafenauer and family and Michael Sirant and family.
Carole worked for many years as a sales rep for Athlete’s Wear. This is where she truly shone. She always treated her customers with courtesy and politeness throughout her time there.
Carole will be remembered for her great kindness and loving nature. She always tried to help however and whomever she could. She loved family gatherings and reliving the stories of past family adventures and history.
Carole had a unique sense of humour which was enjoyed by many especially by the staff at Donwood during her stay there. The family would like to thank the staff for their loving care and compassion for Carole. We have only high praise for their devotion to her. “Thank you with all our hearts!”
Carole will be cremated, and a “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.

To Caroles family, so sorry to hear about Caroles passing. I worked with her at Athetes Wear until they went out of business. We had many conversations during work and after work. She really enjoyed working there, and she always had something funny to say. She will be missed.
Beautifully written. She was a wonderful loving cousin whom I will remember fondly for the rest of my life. 🫶🙏
Rest In Peace, Carole. My condolences to your whole family especially to your sister, Pat. You will be missed.
To Carole’s family ,- Jason, Cathleen, Pat, Mike and perspective family members.
Carole was a shinning light in the family. Always there with her big smile and joking ways. She loved you all so much and often spoke of you all to me when we chatted. I was blessed to say hello to her just after Christmas before she passed and I will cherish those small moments forever. You know that I’m always up until at least midnight—please know that you can give me a call if you need to talk to someone, even if it’s super late. And if you don’t want to talk and just want to know there’s another person on the other end of the line, that’s okay, too. Right now your grief must seem insurmountable. Please know that we are thinking of you and praying for all of you. Be kind and gentle with yourself. Take your time. You have our deepest condolences and support.
With all our love – Donna and Paul
I worked with Carole at Athlete’s Wear in the Team /Corporate Clothing Division. She was a lot of fun to work with and we had a lot of laughs in the department. My deepest condolences to her family during this difficult time.
