Carmelle Rachelle Marie Labelle

Carmelle Rachelle Marie Labelle

March 8, 1945 – February 18, 2025

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing ofCarmelle Labelle at the age of 79.  She was predeceased by her husband Léon Rioux, mother and father Cécile DeBlois and Joseph Labelle, her sister Monique, and her granddaughter Brianna.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Robert (Nathalie) and Roselynn; her grandchildren Brent, Jessica (Brandon), Khloe, Stephanie (Matt), and Brianne; her great-grandchildren Nolan, Wesleigh, and Winslow; her sisters Pauline (André) and Yvette (Richard); her brothers Gilles, Michel (Faye) and brother-in-law Peter; along with many nieces and nephews.

Carmelle grew up in St. Malo with her family and then lived many years in St. Boniface. She was a dedicated employee for many years at Swift Packaging and La Vielle Gare Restaurant in St. Boniface. She participated in Sunday night Bowling league for many years at Coronation Bowling Lanes.

Carmelle enjoyed watching the Jets Hockey Games and she was very vocal on giving her opinion on the players and the game!  She looked forward to her Friday night dinners with her brother Gilles, exploring Manitoba with her good friend Irene, visits with her great-grandson Nolan, shopping with Roselyne and Khloe, checking out thrift stores around the city, and her Saturday Kinsmen Bingo.

She made many good friends in the apartment block where she lived, especially her good friend Irene.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Paroisse St-Malo Parish.

“Your beautiful soul will remain in our hearts forever.”

  1. I have many fond memories of ma tante Carmelle. She was always happy to see me and genuinely interested in things that were going on in my life… I’ll always remember her walking through Provencher Park with Robert and Roselynn in toe, coming for coffee with Mom and Dad while we kids played. I know she really loved those regular visits! Years ago, we’d have our weekly Bingo outing and always had so much fun! She would often come visit when my kids were small and we’d talk and laugh while she enjoyed playing with them. She was an easy person to be around with a contagious little giggle!! Rest in peace ma tante; you will be missed 🩷
