Bonnie Sutton

April 10 1950 – January 26 2022

It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bonnie Sutton. She passed away peacefully and gracefully in her sleep, with her daughter, son and grandson by her side.

Born Bonnie Gail May Dennison, April 10 1950 in the city of Winnipeg. She is survived and missed by her daughter and son Lindsey Campbell and Cory Campbell; her grandson Cobain Campbell-Castellano; her sisters Aline Martin, Joanne Ingeberg and Delphine Teillet and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, extended and adopted family, amazing friends and great co-workers.

Bonnie was raised in the neighborhood of Fort Gary by her father and mother Bill and Simone Dennison. She was rebellious by nature and a free spirit in her youth. She would spend a lot of her time in Transcona with friends and chose to raise her family there. A single mother of two, she worked tirelessly and selflessly for her kids as provider, protector and teacher. She devoted her entire life to the safety and happiness of her children and was very close to many of their friends. She saved up enough money to buy a good house on a nice street, retired working for Manitoba Water Stewardship and was always extremely grateful for the amazing people she met through work who helped her along her journey. Transcona was the place that she called home but her heart was always at the cabin, the place where she felt happiest and closest to her parents. Bonnie would spend the majority of the summer at the lake in the sun and would only return to the city for essentials. She loved reading, horses, her dog and family.

Bonnie was a strong woman who fought and won many battles while staying positive and funny, even in her final moments she made her family laugh and feel comforted. She was a beautiful person inside and out, her smile would light up the room and her warm caring nature gave all those she loved happiness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of many and all the hard work that was her legacy will continue to bring shelter, warmth and love to the family which she lived her life for.

According to Bonnie’s wishes a celebration of life will be held in the warmer months at the cabin she held so dear. Announcements will be made through Facebook.

  6. I was so sorry to hear this news. I hadn’t heard that Bonnie was ill. Bonnie and I worked together up until my retirement from the Province of Manitoba in 2014. Bonnie was an incredible colleague, someone always willing to go up and beyond the call of duty to get the job done, or to support a coworker. I will always remember her smile, her laugh and her positive outlook on life. She spoke so often about her love for her family. It was such a pleasure to spend time with Bonnie. Sending Bonnie’s family love and caring thoughts. I hope overtime your feelings of grief will be replaced with the beautiful memories you have of Bonnie.

  9. Miss her so much. She was such a strong woman and she impressed me with her love for her children and grandson. She thought I was funny or she made me feel that anyway. The qualities she had were exactly what I needed in a friend. Loyalty, love, and her laugh was like no other.

  15. My sincere condolences to Lindsey, Cory, Cobain and the rest of Bonnie’s family. I had the pleasure of working with Bonnie at 123 Main Street. She was such a wonderful person – helpful, loyal, friendly, kind – we were so lucky to have her as part of our team. We think of her often and miss her still, many years after her retirement. Bonnie was always full of stories and love for her family – her kids, her grandkid, her sisters. Sending hugs and strength to Bonnie’s family and friends through this tough time. Nicole and Bruce.

  16. Condolences to the entire family. Aunty Bonnie was a lively Aunty and I remember many weekends out at the St.Laurent cottage. Volleyball with her and Uncle Dennis. Good times. I remember once in Winnipeg not too many years ago we met on the bus, both of us traveling to Transcona. She recognized me! I was stunned. We had a good chat and I felt lighter that day. Love to all. ❤️
