Beverly Diane La Plante nee Taylor

June 18, 1958 – March 17, 2023

It is with heavy hearts, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, Bev passed away at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre with family by her side.

Bev is survived by her husband Denis; son Jonathan (Meaghan); grandchildren Paige and Parker; her mom, Elsie Taylor; sisters Barb (Aime), Brenda (Rick) and Rhonda (Ron); sisters-in-law, Claudette and Sylvia (Paul); step-father-in-law Gordon Cross; and auntie Laura; along with niece and nephews, great nieces and nephews, many cousins, special friends and all the friends Bev has made over the years. Bev was predeceased by her dad, Bud; mother and father-in-law, Alf and Carmel; brother-in-law, Wayne; and her fur baby, Wasabi.

Bev graduated from LSRCSS in 1976 and St. Boniface Nursing School in 1980. Bev was employed by Manitoba Clinic and SWEP Management. After retirement Bev worked at Manitoba Parks in Falcon Lake. Bev loved travelling with Denis, family and friends especially to Hawaii, the Caribbean and their cruises. She enjoyed her champagne, wine, cross stitching, gardening and many card games.

Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that helped Bev with her journey. Special thanks to Rhonda and Ron for opening their home to us during Bev’s final months.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy. A private burial will be held at a later date.

At Bev’s request, donations may be made to the Regional Palliative Care Program, Box 5000, 120 Easton Dr, Selkirk MB, R1A 2M2.

Denis and Johnathan my thoughts are with you and your family.

I knew Bev when I was a child, teenager, and young adult. I can’t remember the last time we spoke or I saw her, it’s been at least 15 years. She was a constant throughout my first two decades of life and taught me lots. While I feel her chapter in my life was over, I am so grateful for that time, she felt part of the sanders family. I thought of her often over the years and remember so many moments with her. She was kind, warm, caring, motherly, and respectful of others. She was reliable. No one else I know followed the law if keeping their cat on a leash, I wish more would. It is a testament to her character. The thought makes me smile. She had a smile and laugh for the ages. And great hair.

Bev, thank you for being you. I think of you and will continue to do so. I am sorry I didn’t say so before now.

    Xoxo

    Vicky

My Thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I will keep you both in my prayers. I remember meeting Bev a few times when she worked at MB Clinic. And of course, Claudette’s birthday party. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
