October 13th 1939 – April 28th, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce that our mom Bernice Emilie Jones aged 81 went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday April 28th, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bernice was born to David and Dora Schultz on October 13th 1939, the first of two children.
She was raised in Steinbach Manitoba during her younger years and later in Winnipeg Manitoba. She attended Winnipeg Tech Vocational High School, graduating in 1957. Bernice loved life and enjoyed spending time with cousins and friends at a family farm in Niverville Manitoba.
She was a natural athlete and enjoyed many sports throughout her years, a few being speed skating, softball and curling.
Bernice met her loving husband Walter Jones in Winnipeg and they were married June 3, 1960. They were blessed with three daughters and as a family lived in various locations throughout Canada and Europe during Wallys’ career in the RCAF.
Bernice loved to learn and she excelled at the many career opportunities that came her way, the last being for the Goverment of Canada Employment Insurance Department. Close to her heart were the special women that became her closest friends and she felt blessed to have worked with them. Bernice was a passionate, generous, caring woman and she was well respected for her servant, leadership style. She was always willing to take the time to listen to anyone who sought her council or to help regardless of the task at hand.
Bernice was truly grateful for the blessing of family and friends. She was actively involved in their lives as they were her greatest delights. Bernice was an excellent wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was a courageous woman but she knew without a doubt and would be the first to say that her strength came from the Lord.
2 Timothy 4:7 l have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

We remember Bernice as a very kind and hospitable lady. She loved a good laugh. We always referred to her as the “Chicken Lady” as she would get chickens from a colony and take orders and deliver to anyone. We shared our granddaughters Hannah & Olivia and they will miss her and her garden dearly. RIP Bernice.
Love, Lynn&Wayne Waterman

The few times I met Bernice at Lorie’s house we enjoyed her home cooking. She loved to cook and get to know Robin and Lorie’s friends. I remember her coming to help with the garden and canning. She is home with Jesus now. May God bring peace and joy in the memories for you all. Love Doug and Mel.
Bernice was very wise. I loved how she listened and was never judgmental. I was always in awe of Bernice and I think she was one of the strongest and bravest women I have known. My heart filled prayers go out to the family. God Bless.
I remember Bernice, where as a young teen I would shyly visit her daughter and my best friend Valerie. I remember her warmth and kindness. I extend condolences and love to her family, sisters Lorie and Casey whom I became acquainted with as well. God bless you all.
