On a sunny cold Tuesday morning, in a room filled with love, Barb peacefully began her next journey.
Barb will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years Bill, son Kelly (Jody), grandchildren Noah (Breann) and Emily (Jarrett). Missing her as well are her brothers, in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and her many friends.
Barb was the oldest of three children born to Harry and Joan Muir. The family lived in the Cracknel area, until Barb was three; it was at that time the family moved to the farm south of Russell. She always spoke fondly of her days growing up there. This summer Barb was extremely grateful to spend one last weekend at the farm.
Barb was an avid reader. If she recommended a book you could guarantee it was going to be a good read!
She LOVED gardening and spending time outside!!! Barb spent countless hours tending to her beloved flowers, finding peace in the beauty of nature.
She loved her family and friends more than anything and nothing made her happier than getting together with them. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and many cherished memories.
Our family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care Barb received from the many staff and volunteers at Cancer Care, Palliative Care and Riverview – thank-you for your kindness, respectful and compassionate care of our wife, Mom and Grandma.
Honouring Barb’s wishes a private family celebration will take place at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in Barb’s name to Cancer Care, Winnipeg Humane Society, or any local pet rescue.

Barb was a great person to chat with. Always enjoyed her visits to our house and lake. Spent time talking about flowers and plants and of coarse her grandkids. She will be missed by all ❤️
Rest in Peace Auntie Barb. I’m so grateful I was able to see you and Uncle Bill the last time I came to Russell, I’ll cherish the memories of your smile and kindness always.
Sending the whole family so much love, prayers and hugs.
I’ve known Barb close to 50 years and she will be missed by all. The one thing I will always remember is when around her she would definitely be smiling and laughing .

Bill, Kelly & family, we are so sorry for your loss. Barb was a no nonsense, tell it like it is type of person and I appreciated her for that! We had some good visits. She will never be forgotten.

Bill, Kelly Jody & family … we have many fond memories of family reunions with everyone. Our last visit with Barb and yourself, Bill, was at Muriel’s 100th Birthday where we had a good visit and lots of stories and laughter. Time flies by too quickly. Cherish all the memories ….

We were so blessed that your mom and our mom happened to be placed in the same hospital room that day soooo many years ago! I am so glad you all were in our lives. She will be missed but her friends are there to welcome her home with open arms. ❤️
