January 1, 1954 – July 25, 2022
It is with great sadness and loving memories, Tony’s family announces his passing on July 25, 2022, at Concordia Hospital.
Tony will be forever missed by his beloved long-time partner Tara Missyabit; son Michael; brother Andy (Diane); sister Joyce Dimaggio; nephew Kyle; and niece Candice along with aunts, uncles, cousins and many other family members and dear friends. He was predeceased by his mother Rose, father Morris, and brother-in-law Joe Dimaggio.
Tony worked for The City of Winnipeg for thirty-four years and retired in 2008. In 2011, he took on a new career as a school bus driver for River East Transcona School Division and was there until his passing.
When Tony got together with family, he loved telling jokes and having a good laugh.
In his early teens and continuing throughout his life he had three passions: CARS, GUITARS, and a MOTORCYCLE
Tony was always proud of being able to own classic cars from the 50s, 60s, and the last one from the early 70s. He and Tara would enjoy weekends going to various car shows in Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
His other passion lead/slide guitar took him on a journey of playing with various bands.
He always looked forward to the gatherings with friends at Stead, Manitoba and Vermillion Bay, Ontario for a weekend of jamming.
He was full of surprises and surprise everyone he did when he obtained his motorcycle license in 1981 and purchased a brand new custom chopper. The motorcycle he loved riding for years is currently on display at the Marion Hotel, on the wall near the pool tables.
No matter where Tony went or what he did he always enjoyed meeting people.
The family would like to thank Dr. Patricia Harris and the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation in his memory.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Forever in our Hearts

We are so very sorry for your loss. We had the pleasure of meeting Tony & visiting with him & Tara at the family events over the years as he is our brother-in law Andy’s brother. Tony always made us laugh with funny stories and his quick wit. We could see his eyes twinkle when he came up with something comical to add in on a story.
A very nice write up on his life.
MAMA LET HIM PLAY…….LOUD!!!!!
