Andrew (Andy) passed away unexpectedly on or about April 4th, 2022 at the age of 57.
Andrew is survived by his father, David; three sisters and two brothers, Cheryl, Deb, Lisa, Mark and Craig; and his three children, Amber, Emily and Calvin. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Izabel, Chloe, Aiden and Holden; and his four nephews, Jeremy, Cory, Jonathan and Eric. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Joan and his favourite dog, Caite.
For most of his life, Andrew worked in Winnipeg’s restaurant industry before finally realizing his dream of owning and operating his own restaurant in a small community just outside of Winnipeg. Anyone who had the privilege to enjoy a meal prepared by him would quickly come to appreciate his exceptional culinary talent.
Those who knew Andrew best understood that he was a unique and complicated person who enjoyed the company of friends and his solitude in equal measure. He loved his books, his dogs and good conversation.
He was loved and he will be missed.
There will be a private memorial held by the family this summer.

pity this busy monster, manunkind,
not. Progress is a comfortable disease:
your victim (death and life safely beyond)
plays with the bigness of his littleness
— electrons deify one razorblade
into a mountainrange; lenses extend
unwish through curving wherewhen till unwish
returns on its unself.
A world of made
is not a world of born — pity poor flesh
and trees, poor stars and stones, but never this
fine specimen of hypermagical
ultraomnipotence. We doctors know
a hopeless case if — listen: there’s a hell
of a good universe next door; let’s go

See you on the flip side Baby brother. I miss you.
Andy was an amazing soul both inside and out. I will always remember his excitement when sharing movies or books with me, growing up in the restaurant with him cooking the best food and his passion for learning, animals and nature. He will be missed. Thoughts, love and prayers to the family.
❤️❤️❤️
So sorry to hear of Andrew’s passing. We were regular customers at the Harvest Moon and must say enjoyed the company and the food equally. We felt like part of a family. Have missed everyone that worked at this restaurant and the delicious food. Rest In Peace Andrew.😢❤️💕

Rest easy Andrew thank you for your friendship and the memories
So sorry to learn of Andrew’s passing. We had the pleasure of getting to know him as a customer and friend through Harvest Moon. Outside of the fabulous meals, Andrew loved to engage us in stories and ideas and his favourite old music. I picture him with dogs at his feet, typing a fantastical tale onto an old typewriter. We are grateful for having known Andrew and the many amazing people who were drawn to the magical little cafe that he and Sheila created.
Rest in peace Andrew, you had a big impact on me and your generosity will always be remembered.
I loved working with you, serving/eating your food and think of you often when I make dishes that were inspired by your amazing creations. You will not be forgotten. My sympathy to your entire family for their profound loss.
Thankyou so much Andrew for making the town of Garson a destination because of The Harvest Moon Cafe. So many fond memories of delicious food and times spent with friends and family that would come from far and wide for this experience. You will be missed by far many than you know
Thinking back to grade 6 all of us playing kick the can, riding our bikes, or sharing a Tony’s pizza lol. I hadn’t seen Andy in don’t know how many years but he always held a special place in my heart and I have fond memories of those times with friends.
Sad I am to lose my dear friend Andy whom I’ve known for for over forty years. I’ll miss his company and all the philosophical discourses we engaged in over all those years. Sigh…….blessings to the journey of his spirit. I will miss him.

I just learned of Andy’s passing and so apologize for the delay in commenting. I met A dy when he was about 15 and knew him for several years until we lost touch. One-of-a-kind doesn’t even begin to describe him. He carved his own path, taught himself a skill that he mastered, and was a sincere, warm and lovable character. The world is a sadder place with Andy gone.
Very downhearted to just lean of Andy’s passing. Wishing to be in his presence just one more time. Remembering his infectious laugh and incredible smile are flooding me with great memoires of times spent together. Although our life journey took us on separate paths, you were often on my mind. I’ll embrace the memories I have of our time together, working, gaming and comradery. Till we meet again old friend.
