Amanda was born March 17, 1965 in Guildford, Surrey, England to John and Valerie Simons and little sister to Susan and Karen. The family moved from England, to Vancouver living there for 5 months then Calgary for a year, before finally settling in Winnipeg in November 1968.
Amanda attended Chief Peguis Jr. High and River East Collegiate. Upon graduation she began working at Simon and Reimann. A devoted mother Amanda took 6 years to raise her young family before returning to Simon and Reimann, Credit Department. When the company changed hands Amanda began a long career at Gordon Food Services before changing careers and began in Petals West.
Mom loved her family. First her children then in recent years her Granddaughters.
She loved the lake, the beach and she loved to travel. Her favourite two places were Vegas and Maui. In fact Mom and Gary were married on Kapalua Beach in Maui.
Mom battled PKD for many years and stayed positive in spite of it.
As much as we miss you Mom, we are so happy you are no longer in any pain.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba in Amanda’s name.

Amanda had such an infectious laugh and was always such a kind and thoughtful person. We always would say about
going and having lunch together but with life, covid and one thing or another getting in the way…it didn’t happen. I will
always regret that. Amanda was more than a co-worker, she was also a dear friend. I miss our phone calls and emails just to touch base and to check on each other. Until we meet again Amanda. My heartfelt condolences go out to her many friends and her family. Her family meant the world to her and I know she will always be watching over them. Heaven has gained such a beautiful angel.
I miss you more than words can say sweetie…..and love you to the moon and back
Gary
