Aime Michael Joseph Dorge

Aime Michael Joseph Dorge

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, papa, brother and friend, Aime on July 25, 2019, surrounded by love at his home.

Aime will be lovingly remembered and immensely missed by his wife of 48 years, Arlene; daughter Tracy (Roland); son Michael (Denaye); grandchildren, Sheridan, Eric, Kaylee and Taylor; sisters, Adele, Evelyn (Bob), Denise, Lucille, Jacqueline (Louis), Gisele (Allan) and Jeanette (Gilbert); brothers, Roger (Terry), Guy (Lorna) and Tom (Jodi); in-laws, Andy Degagne, John and Viv Sandberg, Paul and Bonnie Sandberg, Lorna and Guy Dorge and Garth Sandberg and Diane Miller along with their families as well as many nieces and nephews. Aime was predeceased by his mother, Solange (Lapointe); father, Adelard Dorge; brother, Marc; sister Diana and brothers-in-law, Paul Nolette, Ken Bruce and Edward Degagne.

Aime lived most of his life in St. Norbert. He worked for the City of Winnipeg Waterworks Emergency Services for 30 years. After retirement, he enjoyed babysitting his granddaughter Sheridan, working in his vegetable garden, (known for the largest radishes and cucumbers), playing cards, horseshoes, golf and watching the Jets games with his grandson Eric and brother Guy. In his younger days he loved snowmobiling and riding the trike in the mud at Oakpoint Camp Ground. Being a great cook he enjoyed making his secret recipes for his family. He enjoyed a good joke and teasing. He liked to take long rides in the pick-up truck with Arlene listening to country music. His ears would perk up when he would hear about his children’s and grandchildren’s adventures and accomplishments as he was so proud of all of them.

To all of Aime’s friends, know that he truly enjoyed your company, whether it be at The Nob or just hanging out at his house or yours.

A heartfelt thanks to family and friends and the Palliative Care Program for helping to fulfill Aime’s wish to remain at home.

As per Aime’s wishes cremation has taken place and no service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Aime’s name to NEVER ALONE FOUNDATION INC., 1700 Church Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2X 3A2

“Always remember to hold the ones you love close and truly be with them. You may not have tomorrow”.
