July 9, 1945 – December 20, 2021
It is with deep sorrow and sadness the family announces the passing of Malcolm, devoted husband and loving father, grandpa, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, and friend. Dad passed away as he battled with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis since February of 2020.
He was predeceased by his father Otto; mother Gladys; in-laws Peter and Reta Cockriell and his sister-in-law Lynn. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Dale; his two sons Bill (Karen) and Darryl (Kari) whom he was very proud of; grandsons Daniel and Nathan and granddaughter Kayden; he will also be missed by extended family, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends including his retirement lunch group.
Dad grew up in North Kildonan working hard and taking care of his mother. He had a long successful career in the food industry beginning at Eaton’s and retiring after 29 years of service from the Codville Company/Sobeys as an account executive. In retirement he lived for his grandkids who he adored, they were his pride and joy. He was their biggest supporter and fan; wherever the grandkids were grandpa wasn’t far behind. There is no doubt in our minds that he is now their guardian angel and will continue to be with them. We love you, Grandpa!!
A big thank you to Bill and Helene Cockriell for being there for us. Cremation has taken place as per dad’s wishes and no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honour to the Manitoba Lung Association or to a charity of your choice.
