August 17, 1946 – June 11, 2021
After a brief illness, on Friday, June 11, 2021, with family by her side, Donna Lynne Bell (nee Paulson) age 74, passed away peacefully at Riverview Health center.
Donna was born at Hecla Island on August 17, 1946. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Eggert; Her parents, Skuli and Helen Paulson; brother Ron; sister-in-law Jeannie, her beloved nephew David Bell, as well as many other close family and dear friends.
She lives on in the hearts of her children Patty [Walter], Pam, and Vic [Michelle]; also her brother Norm. She was a very loving Amma to Steph [Tanner], Devon [Jami], Brayden [Cynthia], Sebastian, and Skyler [Stephanie]; and a proud Big Amma to Sequoia, Royce, Harley, and Cali.
Donna retired in 2011 after working for 32 years at James Nisbet school as an Educational Assistant. She was much loved by staff and students alike. Her funny, positive, easy, calm demeanour and endless patience was admirable. She loved being a part of the Nisbet family.
She was so proud of her Icelandic heritage and of her Hecla roots. That was where her heart was home. No matter where she lived, she was quick to make new friends, like in the Maples, at the cottage out at Hnausa, in West St Paul, and even most recently at her condo. She always filled her home with candlelight and classic country music. She looked forward to listening to the Polka Party on Saturday nights, and to recordings of The Bell Boys.
She never let you leave her place hungry. Her whipped potatoes… Yum! Donna was such a vibrant person. She enjoyed her many trips to South Beach casino, and being able to stay connected with family and friends on Facebook. Her greatest love was always for her family. She said so often, “I live for my kids”. She supported us all by coming out to as many of our games and events that we would have. She welcomed all of our friends with open arms.
