Peacefully on February 5, 2021 Bill passed away in his sleep at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 79 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Ada; sisters Francis and Helen; and brothers Jim, Ed, Ronnie (Ron).
Bill will be sadly missed by his wife Linda; sons Nick and Morgan; daughter Christina (Ralph); step-daughter Tammy; step-son Russell; sisters Jean, May, Vivian (Ed), and Lucy (Richard); brothers Raymond (Olga) and Charles (Marielle); along with grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends; including his good friend Luke.
Bill was born in Teulon, Manitoba but lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He worked at various jobs; Safeway Bakery, Milkman and roofing. He retired from Griffin Steel Canada after working there for over 32 years. Bill was a very dedicated worker. Bill loved living and visiting the country and loved to embrace the country air. He was a quiet man who would always extend a helping hand to anyone in need. In his early years he loved to dance and listen to country music.
We would like to thank all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for the kindness and patience that you all gave Bill.
Cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held at a later date.

Condolences to the family. I helped care for Bill and he really grew on me. He had a quick temper but you could tell he had a heart of gold, and he’d always apologise for losing his temper after. Rest in peace Bill
That sounds like my dad. Thank you so much for caring for him. It made me smile to hear he grew on you :).
Worked with Bill, until his retirement. We both started days apart from each other. A quiet fellow, though one who enjoyed a good laugh.
We both had a strong endurance to intense heat and humidity; and never complained, except once. Three of us were doing a Friday midnight cleanup shift, in the basement. We had roughly 4-5 yards of silica sand, to shovel into buckets. Envision mid-August. Probably 25C°. Humidity was extremely high. So we started shoveling. Wow! Is all I kept saying. Bill remained speechless. Me telling Bill ‘Wow!! This is insane.’ Every 3 shovels I had to stop. Sweat was burning my eyes. We three though kept chugging along. But nearing 3AM? I told Bill ‘that’s it. 3 AM (half shift only) I am out of here.’
Bill and Walter kept at it. Bill got the better of me, that one and only time. We laughed about that night for years.
Rest In Peace My Working Friend. We’ll do that sand again………Paul
