April 18,1948 – November 7,2020
On APRIL 18, 1948 the sun rose in Majuba, La Brea in Trinidad and Tobago and the world welcomed Leroy Jacob into the loving arms of Lennard Thomas and Christiana Jacob and sister Barbara.
Leroy, or as many knew him “Lap”, spent his days in La Brea playing soccer, liming with his friends, studying mechanics and welding. In June 1967, he welcomed his first child Elizabeth Eartha.
By the early 70s Leroy decided to embark on a new journey, immigrating to Montreal Canada. During his time in Montreal, Leroy continued his studies and welcomed his son, Quincy Joseph in June 1978. Leroy and Quincy moved to Winnipeg Canada in the early 80s, this being where he would spend the next 40 years, also welcoming a daughter, Amanda Mary in November 1988.
Leroy was a well skilled Welder for many years he worked at Nord-Sen Metals, retiring early in 2001.
His favourite hobbies included video photography, film photography, travel, languages, music, and meeting new people and making life long friends everywhere he went.
On November 7, 2020 Leroy was called home to be with the Lord as the sun set in Winnipeg. As he entered the gates, Leroy was welcomed by Mama, Daddy, Barbara and many wonderful friends.
Leaving behind and to be remembered by his son Quincy and daughters Elizabeth and Amanda; grandchildren Ashley, Ashvin, Ashwayne, Aaliyah, Quinton, Memphis, Bishop and Shay, and his siblings Christopher and Yvonne; and many many dear friends and family.
In the clouds we will meet you again, may you Rest In Peace.
We Love You Dad ❤

I will truly miss you cousin Leroy, you made me feel like I had a big brother in you. You had a knack of bringing people together and laughing. I will aspire to be anything like you when it comes to your family. And thanks for the video ☺️…till we meet again. Matthew Mcsween
Leroy was such a sweet person. He was very friendly and even though he left Trinidad so many years ago. He loved Trinidad with a passion. He loved people and does not hesitate to make new friends. He loved to laugh. My sincere condolences to the family. May his soul Rest in Peace.
I knew Lap and I went to school with his younger brother whom we used to call Roti, it’s sad to hear he left us, he will be missed…. Smiley….
Leroy – Lap as I have always called you from childhood. I know you’re gone, but I still can’t believe it. You had never forgot your people in La Brea. When my mum was alive and you visited La Brea, you had always visited her. You will be dearly missed by the people of La Brea especially at the Coco Shed. Gone Too Soon. Sleep In Eternal Peace.
Jacob, was a frequent guest at Canad Inns in Tcona. Such a nice wonderful man… could make anyone’s day better. We need more Jacobs in this world. Thank you my friend for all the talks, laughs and keeping company on those quiet boring late night shifts!
Rest in paradise
Jay
