After a number of years of living with dementia, Alfred went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on November 10, 2020.
He leaves to cherish in his memory his former wife Nona and adopted children Doug; Margret; Joyce as well as his grandson Justin who lives in Calgary.
Alfred was predeceased by his father at the age of two, his mother at the age of 32; brother Jacob and sister Susan.
He is survived by five siblings; Peter (Carol); Mary; Martha; Helen (Henry) and Arthur (Anne).
Alfred worked for many years as a long distance truck driver, hauling heavy construction machinery throughout Western Canada for the Western Cason Company.
He was also an advid Bowler in the Winnipeg Men’s League. This is where he won many trophies and had averages in the 240 range which included a few perfect games.
He also loved to watch western movies, especially when they included John Wayne.
We want to thank the staff at Concordia Place and all who cared for Alfred for past years. To the Staff at Holy Family, that gave him the very special care he needed. We his family really appreciated that.

My most heartfelt feelings go out to my current teammate and to my retired former bowling coach on the passing of Kit’s friend’s daughters’ father. May the good Lord bring you peace during this sensitive time and the Holy Spirit guide you as you navigate the toughest stage of your life.
My condolences go out to His Worship Mayor Martin Harder on the passing of Mr. Harder. May this time of sorrow lead you on the path to each new tomorrow.
