April 20, 1958 – June 20, 2019
After 61 years of life, love, and memories, we announce with heavy hearts the sudden passing of our beloved father, son, brother, uncle, and friend Glenn William Peter McLachlan. He was predeceased by his father Walter McLachlan and brother Gregory McLachlan. He leaves behind his mother Sonia; his daughter Kayla Morgan and her mother Diana; his twin sister Karen and family; and sister Wendy and family; as well as Greg’s family; cousins, friends and colleagues.
Glenn was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on April 20, 1958. He had many passions and interests in his vibrant life, from hockey, football, baseball, golf and curling, to fishing, boating, and water skiing. Just like his father, Glenn had an effervescent, goofy, and inviting personality and he loved meeting new people. His contagious, positive vibration, witty jokes, and ability to spark meaningful conversation with strangers enabled him to make friends with anyone and everyone he encountered.
As much as Glenn enjoyed his hobbies, nothing could hold a candle to the love he had for his daughter. His face would light up and his spirits soar when talking about her or spending time pursuing her passions, mainly horses. She inherited his all-or-nothing attitude, but most of all, she inherited his never-ending love and pride. He was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly and stopped at nothing to provide for his family. He loved those in his life unconditionally and without end.
Throughout his life, Glenn endured many struggles with his health and handled every blow and setback with resilience and grace. He had established a strong faith in Jesus that he carried with him throughout his life, often reminding those around him to surrender their suffering and worries in return for a promise of love, forgiveness, and acceptance in this life and the next. He maintained to the end that everything in life happened for a reason.
Glenn passed peacefully at home and will be cherished in our hearts forever.
Celebration of Life will take place at Riverwood Church Community at the Warehouse, 270 Gordon Avenue, Winnipeg, on Thursday, July 4 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Glenn’s memory to Riverwood Church Community’s “For The Kids” campaign, 325 Talbot Ave, Winnipeg MB, R2L 0P9, or a Charity of your choice.
