March 24, 1964 – February 24, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Nowakowski on February 24, 2025, at the age of 60. Janet was born on March 24, 1964, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A devoted mother, Janet is lovingly remembered by her children, Drew, Kayla, and Adam. She is also survived by her siblings, Laura, Linda, David, Ernie, and Wilfred. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ron, and her parents, Frances and Martin. Janet will be deeply missed by her extended family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched.
Janet grew up on a farm in Manitoba, where her life was filled with countless cherished memories–she often recounted being hilariously chased by the family chickens. She carried that same playful spirit throughout her life, bringing energy and joy to every room she entered. Known for her selflessness and a heart full of love, Janet always put others first, becoming a pillar of support and affection for those around her.
As a stay-at-home mom, Janet also ran a part-time home daycare, creating a nurturing and welcoming space for children. In her free time, she found joy in reading (especially V.C. Andrews novels), solving puzzles, colouring, and taking walks. Her hobbies reflected the simple, yet meaningful moments she cherished in life.
A devoted member of Faith Church and her local community, Janet’s generosity and unwavering faith inspired and uplifted many. Her compassionate nature and kind spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
A service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held on Friday, March 21st, at 11:30 a.m. at Faith Church, 386 McGregor St., Winnipeg, MB, R2W 4X5.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly encourages donations to Faith Church in Janet’s memory, a place that brought her so much joy and solace.
Janet’s legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
