Rachelle Dilay

Rachelle Dilay

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rachelle Dilay on Jan 28, 2025 at the age of 32. Rachelle passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital due to sudden medical complications.

She was loved by family and friends including her father Alan Dilay, mother Elaine Demanski, sister Justine Dilay (Robert Neufeld), partner Joseph Simon, and many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by grand-parents Walter and Mary Dilay and John and Victoria Demanski.

Rachelle’s big passion was singing, she had a beautiful voice. She worked for many years as a Karaoke host and server at various places in Winnipeg. In High School she sang with a singing group called Prodigy who performed at many events. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Rachelle had requested to be an organ donor. As a result, four recipients received life saving organs.

In loving memory of a kind and gentle soul.

“May you build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung….

may your heart always be joyfull may your song always be sung

and may you stay forever young.”

A memorial service will be held at the Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler on Saturday February 22, 2025 at 1 pm. Food will be served, everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Diabetes Canada and/or Transplant Manitoba.

  1. I’m going to miss this young lady so much. Everyone she met she touched their lives in a special way. I loved this young lady so much both as a karaoke host and as someone I could call a friend. RIP Rachelle and my prayers are going out to her family and to Joey.

  2. I am still in shock about Rachelle having passed away! She was such a sweet special person, always smiling and engaging. She had such a wonderful voice and sang beautifully! And she could sing all genres of music, even country though that wasn’t one of her favourites. I only met her three years ago but she became a fast friend and I am so going to miss her!
My sincere condolences go out to her family and friends and especially Joey.

  4. One of the most beautiful people inside and out I had ever met. Heavenly angel 😇. VOYAGE. VOYAGE. I’m sure Heaven is happy you’re home. See you, later.

  5. My dear beautiful, sensitive, fun-loving, generous daughter in law, I loved you always as my own child. While you are gone there is a missing piece of my heart, that will never be replaced.
A song we sang so many times together …

~These dreams go on when I close my eyes
Every second of the night I live another life..~

The gift of life for others follows through with who you were and always will be..

    Miss you forever..

My deepest condolences to the family.
I was lucky enough to call Rachelle my best friend for years, and have her as a security blanket almost everywhere I went. She was always kind and compassionate, even when it got her into trouble. She had such a beautiful voice, and her laugh was so contagious. Rash was also so so funny, and unbelievably sweet. She will be missed very much, and not only by me – she had so many friends. It was easy to love Rash. It’s nice to see that most of what people are saying about her is how kind and genuine she was, and how lovely her singing was.
I love you, Rash Dilly. Thanks for always being in my corner.
We are the light in the tunnel, that’s all <3

  7. ❤️❤️❤️ Rash. Thank you for being one of my best friends from teens to twenties! Most of my memories growing up have you right there beside me! Thank you for loving me, being goofy with me, and for always just being there and supporting and cheering me on even as we became more distant in the last few years. ❤️ I’ll cherish our last hug I got from you at almost 9 months pregnant, and that you got to see Emrielle’s pictures! I agree, she is beautiful! 🥰

I’m glad your life was so full of love and friendships! We were all lucky to know you. ❤️

Alan, I know we probably caused you more headaches than not, but thank you for allowing us to hangout in a safe home and create memories together. Sending my deepest condolences to you and Justine during this time.

  8. I was deeply saddened to hear about Rachelle’s sudden passing. Hearing about her passing has brought back a flood of cherished memories from our teenage years that will always hold a special place in my heart. We may have lost touch, but the countless days we spent together will always be a significant part of my life. I extend my heartfelt sympathies to Rachelle’s family and all who loved her. Rest peacefully, Rachelle.

  9. Dear Al and family,

Sincere condolences on the passing of your beautiful daughter Rachelle. Wishing you peace and comfort in the days ahead.
