In Loving Memory of Bob, The Tow Truck Driver

Bob, affectionately known as “Bob The Tow Truck Driver,” passed away peacefully at Selkirk Hospital on December 19, 2024.

Bob will be deeply missed by his beloved partner, Faye, whose life he touched profoundly. He now joins his dear friends Rodney and Jerry, who passed before him.

Living life to the fullest, Bob took immense pride in being Manitoba’s oldest tow truck driver. Towing wasn’t just his career—it was his passion. Following his retirement and relocation to Selkirk, Bob pursued another love: classic cars. He purchased and meticulously restored a 1956 Ford Fairlane, which he proudly showcased at car shows as a member of the Lily Pad Cruisers Car Club.

Bob also enjoyed spending time at the Selkirk Legion, where he transferred his membership and found joy in playing cribbage. His interests in history, travel, and current events fueled his curiosity and gave him a wealth of stories to share with anyone fortunate enough to listen.

Bob’s legacy of passion, kindness, and vibrant storytelling will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.

In memory of Bob play: Prop me up by my jukebox.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Bob’s honor to the Salvation Army, reflecting his generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others.

Cremation has been taken place and a celebration of life will be held at the Selkirk Legion on Sunday January 12,2025 @ 1:00PM

  4. Fond memories of Bob as a close friend of my father Rodney , I even drove a tow truck for him for a brief period .. He loved his old cars and his family , I used to hang out with him lots when my Dad was alive , he always had stories , the one I remember is when his own tow truck ran him over and I visited him in HSC while he recovered , he was a good man , he will be missed

  5. We really didn’t know Bob well, he was my cousin Bob. Loving known by his family. I pray now you find peace in heaven. Love always your cousin Cori

  6. Missing from “Bob the tow truck drivers” obituary is his predeceased Mother and Father, Hilda and Charlie Leah, and sister Teresa aka Auntie Terry.
Also not acknowledged and left behind are 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grand children who he had no relationship with. Bob was not a family man even though he made one … but you know … at least he towed cars till he was really old and had a fancy old car.
Rest in peace, I’m very sorry that you never wanted to know any of us honestly.
Love the daughter who’s name you never knew apparently.
