Lillian Mary Ross

March 27, 1940 – October 23, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother Lillian Mary Ross (nee Lepesko) of St. Clements, Manitoba on October 23, 2024.

Lily passed away peacefully with family by her side. Lily leaves behind her children Linda and Chris (Pierre); granddaughter Heather (Kyle); great-grandson Logan; grandchildren Derek and Chelsea; daughter-in-law Jill; and family friend Gary. She was predeceased by her husband Dennis, sons Grant and Douglas, sister Emily Lutz, and parents Vincent and Ann Lepesko.

Lily took great pride in her family and raising her four children on Cameo Crescent, in East Kildonan. She was the heart of the home; a gentle and kind soul who loved cooking and always made sure that no one ever left hungry. In 1986, Lily and her husband Dennis embarked on a new adventure and built the home of their dreams on the Red River. This is where Lily’s love of gardening, pickling and entertaining really shone. Her indoor solarium filled with plants thrived and brought her great joy.

Lily, Dennis, and their family would often spend summer weekends at their cabin at Star Lake where many good friendships and fond memories were made. Lily’s children and grandchildren meant a great deal to her. She would take them blueberry and mushroom picking on the hill behind the cabin which led to delicious blueberry pancakes for breakfast and fried mushrooms with dinners. There was nothing as delicious as a meal prepared by Lily.

Mom and Dad had an enduring love and were married for 63 years. We all take comfort in knowing that Mom is now at peace and together with dad again. They will both remain forever in our hearts.

The family would like to thank the Betel Home of Selkirk for their care and compassion over the past seven months. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba or an animal rescue of your choice.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

We are saddened to hear of Lillian’s passing. She and Dennis were such wonderful people. And yes, Lillian always had a desert to serve anytime we went to visit. We will always remember them.
    Our condolences to the family.

  2. I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. The picture of her captured her beauty and the words her spirit and her love of life. All were welcome at the Ross home and cabin. She will be missed but kept alive with all your memories. I can still hear her laughter which came so easily. Much hugs to all

  3. I have such fond memories of Auntie Lil. The most kind and loving person. I remember the food at Aunt Lil’s for family get togethers at Christmas and Thanksgiving. What a great cook she was. We used to go to Grandpa Ross place to go snowmobiling and Aunt Lil drove the snowmobile really well. Our families also used to go fishing at a secret lake. All great memories. We will miss you, Auntie Lil.
