It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Anne Kitzul at age 73 years old, of Winnipeg Manitoba
Rose was raised in Elmwood and graduated from Elmwood High School in Winnipeg. She enjoyed a variety of jobs, and she enjoyed working the overnight shift at Klinic for many years.
Rose resided in her Transcona home for many years and retired early, leaving more opportunities for her first love of traveling. She enjoyed her trips to Europe with friends, and also doing many short road trips into the USA with her sister Elizabeth. Rose and Liz once drove to Edmonton, and Rose was convinced that the best route was to go via Montana. It was the most beautiful, scenic route, but certainly not the shortest.
Rose and Liz could be counted on for getting into mischief together. On one particular trip they crawled under a train to get into a museum for free, security spotted them and promptly tossed them out of the premises. Rose and her sister Liz once posed as the same person employed at the Red River Exhibition and worked alternate days for the same paycheck, they were job sharing before it was even a thing!
Rose was an animal lover and could always be counted on to do some pet sitting for anyone anytime, she really enjoyed caring for a part-time dog or cat. Rose also had an ongoing love affair with Tim Horton’s Coffee. Anytime was coffee time, whether it was by herself or with a friend she could catch up with, she was always ready and willing to go to Tim Hortons!
Rose was also quite fond of shoes, designer shoes, and in particular, shoes that could be found at Holt Renfrew, a fine clothing store that we used to have in Winnipeg. Rose was always careful with money, and she could stretch a dollar from here to Lockport.
Rose was predeceased by her mother Kay Komerniski Kitzul, her father Stefan (Steve) Kitzul, and her brother John Kitzul. Rose was also predeceased by her long-time companion Robert. Rose is survived by her only sister Elizabeth Kitzul of Winnipeg, family in Saskatchewan, special friend Larry and many friends.
Our family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Grace Hospital, and the Health Science Centre for the gentle loving care they provided during this difficult time.
As per Rose’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society for Leukemia Cancer Research.
Please raise a glass and have a toast to Rose, as she was a kind and very thoughtful soul. The world was a better place with her in it.

I remember the time I went with Liz to visit her sister at her apartment. Everything was in boxes and there were packets of sugar and spices on her counter. She was a very thrifty woman when it came to some things. Liz I’m sorry for your loss. Travel on Rose.
Rose was one of a kind and I really enjoyed having her as a dear friend in our younger age. We had wonderful adventures as a foursome girl pack! At some point I lost contact with her and was hoping to meet up with her these past few years with no result. I was sad to hear of Rose Annes’ passing and send my deepest sympathy to Elizabeth and hope one day I would be able to see you again soon. I have wonderful memories that I will cherish. Forever remembered, your friend in the past Ellie Raffard . ♥️♥️

Rose and I reconnected less than 2 months ago at the funeral of another cousin. She truly was the kind, loving soul that I remember from many years ago. It’s bitter sweet that we reconnected, and I didn’t realize it would be our last visit. How I wish we would have stayed in touch all those years. I’m sure those thoughts ring true for most of us, family is so precious…
Love you Rose ❤️❤️❤️
