November 10, 1941 – August 4, 2024
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, gido, brother, uncle, and friend on August 4, 2024.
Maurice was predeceased by his parents, six brothers, and two sisters. Maurice was born in Senkiw, Manitoba. In 1961 he met the love of his life Irene and they married in 1962. They were blessed with three sons, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren with another one on the way.
Maurice had a career with CN Rail for 35 years. He was passionate about helping people and volunteered for St. John’s Ambulance for over 35 years. During that time, he received two awards from Governor General Jeanne Mathilde Sauvé, Officer Brother award and Serving Brother award. Maurice had a true passion for fishing, hunting, and volunteering for Casara Air Search and Rescue.
He will be forever missed and loved by all. The family would like to thank everyone at the St. Boniface Hospital, Cardiac Ward, and Doctor D., for taking great care of Maurice.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at 200 Horace Street. Interment to follow at a later date.
поки ми не зустрінемося знову
Until we meet again

I will forever miss you Gido. You were the only grandfather I knew. The memories are endless and will forever stay in my mind. I’m proud of my Ukrainian heritage because of you. You will always be my Gido. Thank you for the amazing childhood you gave me that taught me so many things and life skills. I always knew if I needed you , you were there . Again , thank you for everything you gave and did for me. I feel so lucky and blessed to call you my Gido and have you with me 35 years.
