Kathleen Diduch
August 11, 1942 – May 23, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Kathleen (Kay) Diduch on May 23, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Kay was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Harold Vanalstine and her husband Bill Diduch in 2022. Kay is survived by her son David (Jen); daughters Nancy Dunnec and Bev Rolsky (John); grandson William Diduch Jr; brother Allan Vanalstine (Carole); and her very close niece Lynne Mierzwa and other nieces and nephews.

Mom grew up in Balmoral, Manitoba and lived a country lifestyle with her father being a store owner. A later move introduced Kay to city life in Winnipeg. Kay later met Bill and they married and started a family. From Winnipeg to Kenora, Vita and back to Winnipeg Kay always worked hard to help support her family. While living in Vita, Kay tended injuries to her daughters several times from horseback riding incidents and worked at the personal care home. Throughout her life, Kay enjoyed camping with her family, and keeping an extra eye on younger, mischievous son Dave. Kay enjoyed camping with her husband Bill into their later years. Mom loved gardening and flowers and was a natural green thumb up until her final days. Mom worked for Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and received a long service recognition certificate for her commitment, dedication, and loyalty during her 15 years of service.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Kay’s good friends Jeanette, Denise and Terri for all of their support following the loss of her husband. Also, thanks to the Kenbur Gardens coffee crew for their support during this difficult time. An additional heartfelt thank you is extended to Klinic Community Health Centre for their support and concern over the years.

Cremation has taken place. A small gathering will be announced at a later date.

In Lieu of flowers the family request a donation to Canadian Lung Association or charity of your choice.
