Dwayne Harry Gordon

Dwayne Harry Gordon 13

On September 12th in 1963 Dwayne Harry Gordon was born to Caroline and Thomas Ross Gordon the third at HSC in Winnipeg Manitoba.

Growing up he lived in the Lord Selkirk Developments with his younger sisters: Natalie and Jeanette (Brenlee) and his mother Caroline (Nee Longclaws).

He attended David Livingstone school during his formative years and enjoyed Math and keeping statistics charts and showed his hard working spirit through his various paper routes but would
always relax with his favorite radio programs and later with classics like Bonanza, M.A.S.H. and Get Smart.

He also enjoyed movies and became a Hollywood buff and could recognize many actors no matter the role and list off other movies they were in when asked.

As he got older he went to Red River college and graduated as a commercial cook and got a job at the Chicken Delight headquarters on Berry street.

During this time he would lose his index finger but gained his trademark 4 fingered handshake. This however would not keep him down for long and as he found a warm place to settle down and enjoy life. Later on he picked up a variety of work but found himself loading and unloading trailers for coca-cola as well as many other companies that needed swamper help.

His spirit is always free and he owed nothing to anyone. If there was something he wanted he worked hard for it and loved to sit back and relax after a long day with an ice cold beverage.

He stayed at the Salvation Army for 25 years and became a staple in the community and had many friends with whom he would be merry with as they enjoyed themselves indulging in life and its simplicity.

He was never tied down to anyone or anything and like the breeze he came and went as he pleased where he pleased.

In life he was known as a generous, gentle and kind soul to all who knew him albeit a little on the quiet side but when he spoke those around him were sure to listen for in his words was wisdom that can only be gained from the path he walked.

He was knowledgeable in many things and you only needed to ask if you wanted to know something even with his wind like nature.
Dwayne will be regarded by his school friends and many others who have been in his presence and gotten to know him over the years and by the rest of the family who survives him including
but not limited to Natalie and her kids, Brenlee and her kids as well as a plethora of extended family that stretches nationwide from the prairies to the mountains and back again.

Just as the wind whispers, listen for him in it as he imparts his love and spirit to all of us as we strive to be the peaceful, gracious, forgiving people that Dwayne is.
