1938 – 2022
It is with deep sadness and great memories our family announces the passing of John on October 25, 2022 at the age of 84. John was predeceased by his wife (Linda) and daughter (Michelle). John will be deeply missed by his son Michael (Debi); grandchildren Sara, Devon (Sarah), Alexandria (Jason) and Trent and the many loving nieces and nephews who fondly recall their Uncle John.
Born and raised in Winnipeg as a young man, John enjoyed motorcycles and motorcycle racing being a member of the Winnipeg Roughriders, Winnipeg Motorcycle Club and the Manitoba Motorcycle Club in the 1950’s to the 1970’s. John worked most of his life as a master mechanic for the Carter Chev Olds Dealership. During this time, John became a coach/manager and Provincial registrar for the Manitoba Amateur Wrestling Association. Many a weekend was spent with Mr. Wilson driving the Kelvin wrestling team to events in his black van. John, Linda, and the Wilson family spent many happy times at the “Lot” out in Lac du Bonnet with friends and family.
He will be very missed by all, a true Irishman, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Rest well Dad. Thank you for all your kind wishes.
The family will have a private celebration of John’s life.

It’s been too many years since I’ve seen my Uncle John but I still have lots of fond memories. A lot of these were at Carter’s. Between my Dad (brother Bill) and I, we kept my Uncle pretty busy with repairs. I am glad to have those memories, and just know, you will never be forgotten Uncle John. I’m sorry for your loss cousin Mike. Leslie Wilson
I have fond memories of your parents from MMC events through the 50s and 60s. They are entwined with my thoughts of races, road runs and parties, and my parents (Tiny and Impie) always enjoyed their company. My sympathies for your loss.
