November 9, 1941 – March 2, 2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of a kind, quiet and gentle man, Maurice Grégoire at the age of 80. He will always be remembered for his corny jokes and constant advice.
Maurice was a hardworking handyman who started working at CN in 1961 and worked there till he retired at the age of 53. He really enjoyed going for long drives, playing his ponies, renovating, and building his home/cabins. His claim to fame is winning 5 trips to Las Vegas in Assiniboia Downs competitions which earned him the tag line “Can anyone catch Moe?”.
Maurice is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evelyne; his siblings Marie-Jeanne, Eva (Knud), Simone, Angèle, Soeur Armande, Denis (Sharon) and Marcel (Linda); his children, Marc, Mona (Greg), Robert and Joëlle (Cory); and his grandchildren Alissa, Kara, Cassandra, and Ella.
Due to current Covid restrictions, a private family service is planned for March 11 at 10:30 am at St. Eugene church followed by a lunch in the church basement open to other close family and friends who wish to join.
