Robert “Bob” Rochon

Robert Bob Rochon
January 12, 1939 – February 24, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Robert Rochon on February 24, 2022.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife and soul mate Juliette (Dion), his daughters Jocelyne (Darren Toews), Lianne (Paul Manaigre), and Natalie (Chris Lee), his 9 grandchildren Anique, Chloé, Zachary, Alexa, Noah, Rémi, Chelsea, Aiden, and Lucas as well as siblings Diane, Roger (Florence), Donald (Irene), Laurent (Suzanne), Fernand (Paulette) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Lucille and Oscar, sisters Beatrice and Jacqueline and brothers-in-law, Harold, Ernie and Ronald.

Bob worked for the Canadian National Railway for 34 years spending 10 of those years working out of Estevan, Saskatchewan.

He was an explorer, eager to journey to new places alongside his family whether it was on a walk around St. Norbert, a quad ride through Albert Beach, or across the ocean, reaching each corner of the globe.

He was a capable and generous provider, his many talents and workmanship were made evident in the family cottage he built and maintained through countless years filled with invaluable memories.

He enjoyed the quietness of a game of cards, a beer out on the deck or around a bonfire with his loved ones and he never refused a good pool match. Many of his favourite activities brought him outdoors, from an afternoon of golfing or blueberry picking to a weekend of roughing it in a tent.

Robert was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a humble philanthropist, donating countless hours to the St. Norbert Parish and volunteering at Siloam Mission.

He will be greatly missed!

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church, 80 St. Pierre Street. For everyone’s safety, masks will be required.

Interment of the cremated remains will take place at Green Acres Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba.

Our sincere condolences to Juliette, Jocelyne, Lianne and Natalie and extended families. We had the pleasure of meeting Bob years ago, and although our visits were few, his welcoming nature and his kindness will always remain in our fond memories of those times. May all the wonderful memories you have carry you through this difficult time,

  2. A beautiful obituary and exactly how I witnessed his life! I had the pleasure of playing the “donut” card game and great sportsmanship was another attribute he had! I also was fortunate to spend time with him and Juliette in Mesa Arizona! My condolences to you Juliette, your daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren! You have suffered an immense loss but hopefully your precious memories and caring of family and friends will sustain you during this difficult time!
