Skip Andrews

August 7th, 1960 – July 4th, 2024

In Loving Memory, it is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Skip Andrews, on July 4th, 2024.

Skip was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 7th, 1960, and spent his entire life in Elmwood, where he was a significant leader in the community. He served as president of the Manitoba Optimus Club and the East Elmwood Community Club. He dedicated his time to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for young children and teenagers. Skip was always there for a friendly chat whenever anyone needed it. In his later years, he worked as an avid truck driver. Transporting stray animals to their forever homes in Eastern Canada. He had a deep passion for animals and rescued numerous dogs and cats, never hesitating to lend a helping hand.

Skip is preceded in death by his mother, Carey, father, Pat, and sister, Patty. He is survived by his brother, Ron (Teresa), his children, Dustyn (Megan) and Stevie (Kieran), and his five grandchildren, McKenzie, Paytin, Shelby, Lochlan, and Scotlyn.

Skip will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Winnipeg Humane Society Donate – General Donations (akaraisin.com) in Skip’s name. He would have been touched to know that he could continue to assist animals in need.

  3. Skip,
For years you were the reasoning I needed, the happiness I lost and the guidance I craved. I spent years at EECC and you never judged me, made me feel bad for my choices but guided me to do better and want better in life. You called me out when I was being stubborn but listened when I was hurting. I will never forget the love and compassion you showed me and everyone around and how you pushed me to go back to school to be better…. You are and always be a beacon on light and guidance. Love you
