Robert “Bob” Cook

Robert Bob Cook rotated

With tremendous sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Robert (Bob) on September 24, 2024, at age 80.

Bob is survived by his wife Gloria and sister Betty Squirk. Bob was predeceased by his mother Dolly, brothers Dennis and Rod, stepbrother Ray (Shirley) and step-sisters Marge, Evy and Eleanor, along with numerous cousins.

Bob cherished his mother, was close to his sister Betty, and had good relationships with all his siblings. Bob had many dear friends; special mention with over 50 years are, Bob, Claude and Hal. In 1996 Bob was very fortunate to meet and become endearing friends with John, Kristia and their daughter Courtney (who Bob cherished as if his own child).

Bob was born at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg and attended Isaac Newton and Tec Voc High School. He joined Cadets in his youth, and went to Vernon BC on a field trip which left memories he spoke of often. Bob was witty, adventurous and kind. He loved country music, listened to daily, and beer and was passionate about sports; golf, Jets, Bombers and Vikings (Bud Grant influence). Bob lived a full life, travelling to Europe, Mexico, USA, and throughout Canada. Bob lived and fought by his values and principles. He stood up for those less fortunate. He often stepped in when others were being picked on or bullied.

A very special thank you to the Palliative Care Team that gave us such great support over the last few months, Angels indeed!

Go Bombers, Vikings and Jets for our Bob.
