Gary Anthony Danylyshyn

July 8, 1957 – May 10, 2024 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Gary Anthony Danylyshyn. Dad passed away peacefully at the age of 66 years old, on May 10, 2024, at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Dad is survived by his children Sherry (Daniel), Myron (Ammi), Cody and Kristy. Grandchildren Alex, Danny, Julia and Kassandra. His loving brother Gerry (Carolyn) and his Niece Mary and Nephew Kyle, as well as his half-brother Patrick and family for which they just reconnected this past year. Our Mother Janice Thompson and Dad’s extended family on our mom’s side.

Dad was pre deceased by his parents Audrey Portalance, Paul Danylyshyn, his brother Barry Danylyshyn and his daughter, our loving sister Tasha Rose Danylyshyn.

On July 8, 1957, our father was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He later moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba as a young adult, where he met our mother Janice and made it his home. He had a successful career as a baker and later as a cook, with a strong passion for cooking.

Dad had a strong love for sports, notably hockey. He also had a passion for collecting sports cards, coins, and banknotes. Dad also loved fishing and camping. His love for classic rock music was contagious and enduring.

He had a great affection for family gatherings and eagerly anticipated connecting with everyone. Thank you, DAD, for persistently battling cancer and giving us more time and precious memories. We will always remember you, dad, and those random cat emojis and numerous texts you sent. You will forever be in our hearts.
