DAISY BURNETT

DAISY BURNETT

After suffering two strokes, Daisy peacefully passed away at the age of 99 years old, four months short of reaching 100. Her father (Newton Fehr) lived to 100 years old and Daisy dearly wanted to reach that goal. Daisy was born in Gladstone, Manitoba on February 17, 1918. Daisy was predeceased by her three husbands, Thomas Pottinger, Al Hansen and Charles Burnett; three children, Louise Pottinger, Lloyd Pottinger and Harvey Pottinger; great grandson Nathan Pottinger and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two sons Norman (Dawn) Pottinger and Gordon (Lynda) Pottinger; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Daisy was a dedicated and proud life-time member of the Elmwood Legion #9. Nothing made her happier than a good turnout for any function held at the legion and she would volunteer to help in any way they needed to make it a success. Daisy will be missed by all of her family and her many friends for her positive attitude, sense of humour, determination, caring and her overall strength. The family would like to thank the Concordia Hospital staff North-East third floor for their wonderful care and compassion. A celebration of life will be held on October 31, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Legion #9, 920 Nairn Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity.

JO-ANNE DAVIDSON

JO-ANNE DAVIDSON

It is with great sadness our family wishes to announce the passing of Jo-Anne (Joady) Davidson on October 16, 2017 at the age of 79 years. Jo-Anne was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario and at an early age moved to Winnipeg with her family where she remained for most of her life. During her working years, Jo-Anne worked for Investor's Syndicate, Air Canada and later for the Province of Manitoba until her retirement in 1992. Jo-Anne had a multitude of hobbies, her most recent being landscape painting. She also loved re-decorating and when her health no longer permitted, her painting and her computer filled the void giving her many hours of enjoyment. Jo-Anne is survived by her #1 son Bryan Davidson (Andrea) of Calgary AB and her #1 daughter Allison Grosch (Brian) of South Elgin Illinois, her loving sisters Rosalee (Lee) van Stelten (Shirley) of Victoria BC and Laurel (Laurie) Cormack of Campbell River BC as well as numerous "favourite nieces & nephews", brother and sister-in-laws and their families and Daswell (Das) who held a special place in her heart. Not to be forgotten are her two loyal and affectionate pets, Buddy and Spook. Jo-Anne was pre-deceased by her Dad, V.O. (Bud) Auger in 1955, her Mom, Eunice Strutt in 1956, her first husband Dick Davidson in 1968, her brother Bryan Auger in 1972 and her second husband John Horvath (2013). In accordance with Jo-Anne's wishes, there will be no service. Immediate cremation has taken place. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Riverview Health Center for their caring and dedication to a most difficult job. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Jo-Anne's memory to her favourite charity, The Winnipeg Humane Society or to a charity of one's choice.
