June 14, 1957 – August 4, 2019

It is with heavy hearts and much sadness that we announce the passing of Tom on August 4, 2019.

Tom is survived by his wife Cheryl of 37 years; his father in-law Al McGuff; brother in-law Rick and Kim McGuff; sister in-law Michele Prociuk and Rob Vidal; and numerous nieces and nephews, all whom he loved very much. He was predeceased by his parents John and Evelyn Prendergast and mother in-law Doreen McGuff.

In 1980 Tom met the love of his life Cheryl, and they married January 16, 1982.  Tom was employed at CN for 38 years, retiring in 2012.

Tom had three things he loved most in life, his family and friends, his pets and Malachi Lake, where he made many lasting memories. Tom had a unique and special gift as a handyman as there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or build. No matter how small or big the problem was he always found a way to fix it.

Cheryl wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of D5 Health Science Centre for the compassion they showed to Tom during his stay.  She would also like to thank family and friends for their support over these past several weeks, especially sister Michele who stayed by her side for many hours at the hospital and Terri Turner for everything you did/do for us.

In keeping with Tom’s wishes there will be no service, however there will be a gathering of family and friends at a later date.

Donations in Tom’s memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or charity of your choice.

Dear Tom
Rest In Peace you deserve it!  You will forever and always be in my heart. Love never ends.
  Cheryl
