It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Teyara Elizabeth Edna Exilda Maytwayashing-Shea of Winnipeg, MB, on June 6, 2023, at the age of 18.
Teyara will be sadly missed by her mother Melanie (step-father Jamie Smith), father Charles Maytwayashing, siblings Drayden (Dominique); Desirae (Brian): step-siblings Emma, Ashton, Julian, Skylar and Cole; nieces Divinity, Demetria, Delaney, Aziriya, Melanya, and Evelyn. Grandparents Linda (nanny) and Leo (papa) Shea; Victoria (Koko) Maytwayashing; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Predeceased by her nephew DeNasiel Moran, Aunt Donna Shea, and Cousin Sabrina Walton.
Teyara was born on June 26, 2004, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Teyara was an outgoing, sweet, loving, passionate person who loved to draw, travel, and spend time with family and friends. She had goals to pursue a career in the Canadian Armed Forces. She started her journey through the Bold Eagle program in Wainright, Alberta where she began her training and graduated as a Private. She continued part-time at Minto Armory.
Teyara was a dedicated and hard worker as a Mover where she moved locally and long-haul with her mom and stepdad on the road.
A celebration of life will be held on June 19, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, Located at 220 Hespeler Ave.
