Sheila Anne Hewitt

Sheila Anne Hewitt
October 3, 1938 – July 3, 2023

Sheila Anne Hewitt passed away suddenly on July 3, 2023.

Sheila was the mother of four children, Maureen Harrison, Neil (Carmen Campbell-Hewitt), David, and Donald (Deborah Eiriksson) Hewitt; and grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Sheila was predeceased by Barry, her husband of 67 years and is survived by her sisters-in-law Helen McKenzie and Muriel (Brian) Hudson and many nieces and nephews.

Sheila loved to dance, have a good laugh, but most of all to be with her family. She was a proud and enthusiastic supporter of all of the various endeavours undertaken by her children and grandchildren whether they were academic, athletic, vocational or avocational, she cheered them all.

Sheila was a very social woman, who was an active participant in each of the communities where she lived, Winnipeg where she grew up, worked and raised her family, Falcon Lake where she lived after retirement and in Texas where she and Barry spent winters for many years. She was an accomplished Highland dancer and dance instructor, a curler, golfer and creator of beautiful quilts, too many to count.

She was truly the matriarch of our family, and we loved her dearly.

We would like to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff at Seine River Retirement Residence and also to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba or Siloam Mission.
