Rolande Marie Pelletier

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rolande (Rolly) Pelletier on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Foyer Valade, St. Vital at the age of 95 years.

Rolly was predeceased by her husband Joseph; parents Philippe LeGras and Marie-Louise LeGras (nee Philippot); six brothers and three sisters. Rolly leaves to mourn her passing, son Charles (Debbie), two grandsons Christopher and Colin, two brothers Fern (Colette) and Andre (Ilse), plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom came from the farm in St. Claude, Manitoba to the city at an early age. While in the city she worked at a few jobs then started her own restaurant on Marion Street called Rollys Diner. Mom would start her days early to get the boys from Medo-Land dairies fed, which is where dad worked before they left on their deliveries. Mom’s restaurant was right beside Medo-Land Dairies which would then become Modern Dairies then Beatrice Foods. Then in 1964, a little man named Charles showed up and Mom sold her restaurant to become a stay-at-home Mom.

Mom and dad loved to go for car rides as they would tell me. I would get a call from them in Calgary saying they just went for a little drive. Mom loved to spend her time taking care of Dad and myself. When Debbie and I had our two boys Chris and Colin in 2001 and 2002 they became mom’s world. She always made sure to express how much she loved us all.

Mom’s main thoughts in life were that her family was OK. Even when she and dad were younger and would go to our mobile home in St. Claude, she would make sure her brothers and their families were always fed and watered, while playing cards (mostly 500) till the wee hours of the morning.

Mom and Dad loved to watch their Jets and Blue Bombers. Even until her last week, she made me put the TV on to the channel to watch her Jets play.

A celebration of Mom’s life will take place on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Avenue at Henderson Highway. Interment will follow at a later date at Green Acres.

Special Thanks to all the staff at Action Margerite “Foyer Valade” for all their help and kindness while Mom was in their care.

“As we loved her, so we’ll miss her”
