Roderick died peacefully surrounded by family on December 10, 2019 at the Grace Hospital, after a battle with health complications.
He was born to Evan McCormick and Patricia O’Kelly on June 19, 1955 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was the youngest of four siblings, Bridget McCormick, Bruce McCormick and Ian McCormick.
He grew up in Windsor Park and made life long friendships with his Windsor Park boys group. Robert Gordon, Bromley Basford, David Wood and Rick Hornsby. He had a passion for environmental rights and founded one of the first recycling programs in Manitoba. He worked as a policy analyst for government of Manitoba for 30 years. He loved music and discovering new artists and genres. He attended the Winnipeg Folk Festival for many years. He loved adventure and travelled many places in his life.
He leaves behind his three children, Emily (Tamara Pojer) McCormick, Martin McCormick and Patrick (Lily Thrift) McCormick; as well as his sister Bridget McCormick; brother Bruce McCormick and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family, friends and others whose lives have been touched by Rod are invited to a celebration of his life on Thursday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy.
