Remembering Paul…

Feb 11, 1963 – June 22 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Paul Joseph Gendron.

After suffering several bouts of heart attacks over the years, an aneurysm surgery, along with the challenges of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Paul withstood and lived for himself, a full and happy life.

He is remembered as a strong-willed, decisive, and determined person, who believed in being self-reliant and self-respected. He had a unique non-expiry positive attitude to grab life as it came and seized his good moments.

He was thoughtful, articulate, sensitive and full of depth. His two dedicated passions were his work and home life. He wasn’t a bucket list kind of person. He was more about regime, and everything outside that box had to be scheduled tightly.

He perpetually started his break of dawn everyday with an unwavering egg breakfast black coffee routine, and Global news.

Paul cherished his job at the Dufresne Furniture Ellice Ave location in Winnipeg MB. He was the “Top Appliance” salesperson who held his sales record year after year! With all those sales trophy awards spilling over his desk area, Paul was proud to serve and achieve his dreams.

We as family and friends are extremely proud as well for his modesty, his outlook and persistence. He overcame many health issues with a smile and slapstick humor, that exuded a positive projection to everyone and to himself.

Paul has now paused to meet his maker and to give the baton to all of us in remembering that laughter, family, close friends, and peace within is the love that ushers us into our final destiny to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

We will miss your hearty laugh, swift humor, and tender moments we were able to share together.

Paul is predeceased by his father Leo Gendron, his mother Leah Gendron and brother Alain Gendron. He leaves behind his brother Aurele (Diane), sister Suzanne, and many nieces and nephews. Ryan, Chantal, Felice, Anthony, Patrick, Lianne, and Christophe. His Best friend Rolf.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A private gathering of family and close friends will be held at a later date.

I can’t imagine not sharing your swift humour with us any more. You were Uncle Buck to the kids, a rare uncle indeed, with a loud hearty laugh that vibrated any room. We will miss your “french accent” imitation, and artful disposition. Rest in peace!

  1. Paul will leave a special place in my heart. Being his sister in law he always made me feel at ease right from the very beginning. He truly was a very humble person with a very big heart and a hearty laugh. So.sorry you had to leave so soon but I am assured you are in good hands. Until we meet again.

  2. I will miss Paul, drinks at 200, dinner at the Keg, we had some good laughs, and some good times, proud to call you my friend

I had not seen Paul in quite a while . Our modern society has evolved in that family , extended family , and so on live in different communities even though those communities are not far apart . It is just the way it is . Anytime that I did meet Paul he always had that big smile ,always so welcoming . What a wonderful and good natured person. He certainly will be missed by those closest to him . My condolences to Suzanne and Aurele and their families and to those who were close to him . (Uncle Addy)

I have not seen Paul in many years due to our living so many miles apart, I remember him as a very nice man. He will be missed by family and friends.
Our condolences to Aurele and Suzanne and their families.

  5. I knew Paul from the community, but we also worked in the same field, and went through many of the same successes and challenges. Paul was truly one of a kind. He had a beaming genuine smile, and was a great listener. That is not something you can say about many — he really took everything you were saying in, weighed it, and answered you in a direct way. He had kind eyes and a warm personality. He was loved by the people in his community, and he was loved by the public whom he tirelessly and graciously served. I believe it is not the years in your life, but the life in years, and Paul lived a noble and fulfilling life. I wish that for all of us. I miss him, and I wish his family peace and comfort.
