Patrick Georges Binne

Patrick Georges Binne

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Georges Binne on September 29, 2018, at the young age of 34.

Patrick graduated from College Louis Riel.  He received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Manitoba and was currently in his final year at the Canadian Mennonite College where he was working towards a music degree.

Anyone who had the opportunity to spend time with Patrick quickly came to realize he was incredibly intelligent and a man of many talents. During his high school years, he was a great soccer player, track athlete, and school came easily to him.  But his true passion was music. At the age of five, he took his first piano lesson, and from there his passion only grew and talent blossomed.  Patrick spent many years taking lessons, practicing and learning anything and everything about music.  He loved composing music and singing. He frequently performed at cafes, restaurants and at many of his friends’ weddings.

Patrick was kind hearted, caring and always willing to help others and therefore he had many friends that cared deeply for him. He had lifelong friends that stood by him through the years but he also made new friends wherever he went.  Patrick loved a good conversation and everyone appreciated his passion for knowledge.

Patrick will forever be remembered by his parents, Michel and Lorraine Binne (née de Rocquigny); sisters and brother in-laws, Theressa (Francois) Crosnier, Sue (Thad) Huse, and Annette Trudeau; he will also be remembered by his nieces and nephews, Katelyn, Sydney, Tristan, Joshua, Nathan and Ashton; as well as his grandmother Marie Binne; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and his many friends from CMU, as well as the music, church and running communities.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Health Sciences Center.  Memorial donations in memory of Patrick can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.

A celebration of Patrick’s life will be held on Friday, October 12 at 10:30 a.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, Winnipeg MB.
