It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Marlene “Mar” after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 71.
Marlene was predeceased by her parents Charles and Irene Dickson (nee Mitchell).
She is survived by her loving husband Laverne “Lav”; only son Corey (Charlene); grandsons Kyle (Morgan) and Brandon Olson; and great granddaughter Mayci. Also left to mourn are her siblings Barbara “Skip”, Charles (Lynn), Sherry (Richard), Doug (Sheri; aunts Barbara “Tootie” Sinnema and Joyce Mitchell; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Marlene absolutely loved life and loved her family and friends. She was very loving, caring and giving and always willing to help anyone. She often spoke about her great granddaughter Mayci and was so proud to be a great grandmother. We know Marlene is now at peace and will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
The family would like to thank Cancer Care Manitoba and Palliative Care Manitoba for the wonderful care and compassion we received.
In keeping with her wishes a service will not be held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
