Lorri-Ann Johnson

Lorri Ann Johnson

April 24, 1963 – July 16, 2025

We are deeply heartbroken to announce the passing of Lorri-Ann Johnson a.k.a. Kiwi, an immeasurable woman, lover, fighter, and charismatic spitfire. Lorri was a beloved sister, mother, aunt, and best friend at the age of 62 on July 16, 2025. Lorri-Ann passed away in her home, having survived an injury during a workplace accident in 2018 as a Long-Haul distance truck driver that would end her career.

Born on April 24, 1963, in Toronto, Ontario, as the third of four British/Scottish mixed Canadian children. Lorri was predeceased by the recent passing of her mother Margaret (Maggie) Sloane, her father George Melvin Johnson, her uncles John Sloane, David Sloane, and aunt Molly Sloane.

Her siblings remain living, Donald Johnson, Emily Collins, and Robert Johnson; along with her nieces and nephews, Brenn Johnson, Brianne Collins, Kelsey Collins, Margaret Johnson, Brendan Collins, Aston-Martin Johnson, Anthony Johnson, and Meira Johnson.

Left to cherish her memory and fierce heart is her only son Tyler Johnson; her daughter Amber Dawn/ Jennifer Walyuchow; as well as her ‘daughter from another mother’ Celina Bumbry. She had two fierce women in her life that carried her through all of her triumphs, challenges, and life being her long-time best-friend and sister, Tannis Bumbry, her kids, Sultan Bumbry, Ethan Diakow and husband, Stan Tymczyzyn and his son Zachary Tymczyzyn; and her former truck driving partner, best-friend, and sister, Timi Davis.

Friends dear to Lorri-Ann’s heart, her chosen family include Jonny Rea, Teena Brown, Lori Speiran, Dina and Neil Klassen, Warren Kreway, Kathy Rocheleau, Arleen Cathcart, and Frank Umbeer.

Lorri-Ann was a devoted motorcycle lover, having an adoration for the Harley Davidson brand, and for much of her life was a ‘fat-boy’ motorcyclist. She was a brilliant truck-driver, spanning long-haul and short-haul for well over three decades. She held many businesses in her lifetime including a Canadian restaurant in the town of Paihia, Aoteroa in the 90’s and over her career she worked as a Chef, Hairstylist, Taxi-Driver, Limo Driver, School Bus Driver, and more. Lorri had traveled the United States, Canada, and New Zealand over her lifetime.

Lorri, affectionately called Kiwi, due to her time with her child Tyler in New Zealand, loved the Sons of Anarchy, the colour Purple, Leather, Billiards, and watching soap operas ‘the Young & the Restless’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’ with her late mom Maggie. Lorri enjoyed a wide array of music including ACDC, Pink Floyd, Garth Brooks, Jann Arden, Serena Ryder, Pink, and Eminem. She loved spending time watching reality TV and playing an immense amount of games on her phone. You could find her indulging in Shrimp, Lobster, Almond Joys, and Coca-Cola as some of her favourite treats. Lorri was and will always be loved for her unique and fierce vibrato, her trucker mouth, love of cats, and her heart of gold.

Special thanks to the Winnipeg Paramedics, Winnipeg Police Services, Timi Davis, Tannis Bumbrey, Stan, and her son, Tyler Johnson.

  1. This news broke my heart and now I hold my memories closer than ever. Lorri and I became like sisters when I lived in Red Deer. I dyed her hair purple, was in a toy run….her first time with her new Harley and she won 3 trophies. Ty was her anchor and her biggest love. Stay strong like your Momma would want Ty. Love you fiercely. Fly high with all the angel Kiwi….the 2 Lorri’s will forever be part of our sisterhood. My sincere condolences. Lorri Speiran. 💔
