1928 – 2020

Lillie passed peacefully on May 16, 2020.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Twyla; grandchildren Michael (Darla) and Tracy (Kevin); five great-grandchildren Maddie, Emma-Kate, Sadie, Olivia and Jane; sisters Doris (Albert) of Edmonton and Edna Kirkup of Regina; and sister-in-law Angie Johnson in Los Angeles.

Lillie lived in Kamsack, Saskatchewan with her loving husband Mike, until his passing in 2006. Lillie then moved to Winnipeg to live with her daughter Twyla. Lillie had a sense of adventure and loved to travel. She enjoyed many trips with her devoted family. She also loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital as well as all Lillie’s home care workers.

A private gathering has taken place.

  1. Great-Grandaughter Maddie

Several weeks ago, my great grandma had a stroke. When they did further testing, they found that her whole body was full of cancer. Yesterday this amazing lady passed away. While this is a huge loss for our family, she was in so much pain that it is comforting to know she no longer is. My great-grandma is someone who loved her family fearlessly, loved Starbucks and her daily bowl of vanilla ice cream. I’m so thankful she was in my life for as long as she was and for the memories I made with her. I’m also in awe of my grandma for the amazing caregiver she was to her mom. That is truly the definition of selfless love. I hope heaven has endless Starbucks coffee for you. We will miss you forever great-grandma Lillie.

Lillian (Grandma ), she will be greatly missed at our morning coffee group at Mcdonald’s .

    Hello Twyla,
I was so saddened to hear the news of your Mom’s passing, I remember every time I would see you both she smiled and her eyes always had that smile in, I will miss her dearly,

She was so very fortunate to have the care you provided for her during these times, you took such wonderful care of her and it was very noticeable every time I saw you both together.

Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
    Sincerely
    Michael Blomberg

  4. Twyla, so sorry to see Grandma go. We sure will miss her at coffee. I loved our time playing cards and how she loved taking my money with that sharp Shanghai Rummi brain of hers! Mischievous twinkle in her eye! She was so fun!
