Laurie Ross was always “Mr Ross” to us, a fine neighbour, who, as the obituary line states ” always made time for all and shared what he had”. We first met him in Churchill then had the luck to move into his neighbourhood here in Winnipeg. We have many good memories. With deepest sympathy, our condolences go out to his family. We are holding you close in our thoughts and hope you are doing OK.

Pops was always there for me no matter what as he was for so many others. He was a loving father with a good sense of humor but don’t piss him off lol. As a teenager I challenged him all the time but he took it in stride and always let me know he loved me. I remember hen I first moved out to Vancouver on my own and no room mate struggling to pay the bills my electrical bill was through the roof , turning the lights off and keeping the heat down was one of his regular rants. So I called him he picked up the phone and the first thing I said was hi pops you were right. The first thing he said is that’s ok son do you want to come home? I said no I think I’ll tough it out, he said ok love you son but you come home if you change you mind. I love you pops.

  3. Always a friendly face in the diningcar. Certainly one of the first stewards I met as a new waiter. He made sure I was ok as well as anyone else who came into that diner. His presence always stayed with me. Thankyou Mr Ross until we meet up again.
