It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Judy Kehler. Judy left this world with her family by her side on January 1, 2025.
She was predeceased by her husband Wayne Phelps, parents Bill and Annie Wells, and her brother Milt Watson. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nina Smilinski, Judy Cheetham (Keith), Sarah Pichor (James), and Ron Kehler (Charlene); grandchildren Michael (Chantel), Kevin (Taigan), Tara (Amir), Jason (Brenna), Emmy, Ronnie, and Justin; and great-grandchildren Aubrey, Nolan, and Emily.
For 38 years Judy worked at Kidi-Garden Day Nurseries where she made lifelong friends. Judy loved bowling and bowled every Thursday for 30 years. For a time, she also coached YBC bowling. Judy enjoyed all the activities at Carriage House including their weekly dinners, bingo, karaoke, and holiday parties.
She loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to Edmonton to see Sarah. We would like to express our gratitude to Sarah for taking great care of Mom while she was in hospital. Lastly a big thank you to the nurses and doctors at Seven Oaks Hospital first in Urgent Care then on the 3rd floor unit 7 who took great care of our Mother during the last 2 weeks of her life.
Cremation has taken place. At our Mother’s request, we will have a private family service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I worked with Judy for 30 years at Kidi Garden . Lots of laughs and fun in the kitchen !! The kids loved her cooking ( especially her spaghetti ! ) There were lots of shared experiences over the years at Kidi Garden , birthdays , weddings , retirements , new babies , Christmas parties and many sad events ! Rest in Peace Judy . You contributed so much to our center and raised a family who adored you .
