At 94 years of age, Joan received her wings. She was predeceased by her parents Robert Farrar and Jenny Kinghorn; brother Robert Farrar; sister Geraldine Higgins; husbands Jacob Sawatzky, and Sam Faraci and her great-grandson Aaron Sawatzky.
She is survived by her only son Robert (Cherylene) Sawatzky; her grandchildren, Melanie (Geoff), Chantelle (Patrick), Amber (Alex), and James; and nine great-grandchildren; as well as her extended family of Sandra, Sharon (Gerry), Phillip and their families; and many nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the staff of Park Manor for their care of her and thank you to the St. James Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the St. James Legion. Due to COVID, there are limited restrictions and double vaccination is required.

To my cousin Bob and his extended family I send my condolences on the passing of my Aunt and Godmother Joan. I remember her very good singing voice and from my childhood a fun memory of her Budgie bird that was allowed to fly free in her home. At that time a bird in a house as a pet was absolutely amazing! Of course this meant that I had to get one too several years later.
