Picture of Jean Ledoux

August 9, 1948 – April 15, 2019

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Ledoux on Monday, April 15, 2019.

Jean was predeceased by her parents Jean Baptiste and Madeline; sisters Melanie, Rose, Violet, Olvine and Linda; brothers Robert, Stanley, Joseph, and Lawrence.

Left to hold her memory dear is her daughter Claudette (Richard); sisters Rita, Geraldine and Norma; her niece Marlene (Dan) with whom she shared a very special bond; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mom was born on August 9, 1948, in Camperville, MB. She moved to Winnipeg in her late teens to start her new life in the big city. She started out with various jobs that helped build her skills and not long after she began her career as a Human Resource Officer within different levels of government. Her work was extremely important to her and was very proud of her career and it showed through her dedication right up until her recent retirement after 30 plus years. She made many friends throughout those years with whom she made an effort to always keep in touch.

She had an amazing sense of humor, was kind and generous and could always be counted on to be there for someone in need. Along with many hobbies, her travels around the world before and after retirement were definite highlights of her life.

Her daughter and son-in-law would like to thank all the staff at the St Boniface hospital, who ensured the palliative care she received was with dignity and comfort.

As per Jean’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 27 at the Canad Inns Club Regent hotel at 1415 Regent Ave West.

A private interment will be held later this summer.

  1. Hello, my name is Arlie Warrener. I worked with Jean at Energy and Mines at Eaton place. During that time we become friends. At our coffee breaks many gals and Jean were knitting something I had never had learnt. I expressed to Jean how I would like to learn to knit. So, on a lunch hour off to Eatons store we went and purchased needed supplies. Jean was a super instructor. In the evenings I would work very hard on my project. Next day on coffee break I would proudly show Jean my accomplishment. She would inspect it and if is was not perfect she would say “rip”.
I realize Claudette a lot a time has passed since the passing of your mom but I hope somehow you may get this message.
