April 15, 1927 – February 3, 2019
James (Jim) Joseph Mezzarobba passed away suddenly and peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg on February 3, 2019.
Jim was born in Mezzomonte, Italy on April 15, 1927, and came to Canada at age 6 with his parents to live in northern Manitoba. He graduated from the Pas Collegiate, St. Paul’s College and Success Business College. Over the following years, Jim worked in a number of different sectors as an accountant, salesman and owner of his own construction business.
Jim was an ardent sports fan and followed baseball, football and his favourite sport – golf. In his later years, he became a certified golf instructor and enjoyed giving free instruction to his many golfing friends, “whether wanted or not”.
He was generous to a fault and always enjoyed regaling his friends and relatives with stories and exploits of the past. Jim had a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh. He will be remembered for his many good qualities and philosophy of life expressed in this verse; “I’ve lived a life that’s full, I’ve travelled each and every highway and more, much more than this, I did it my way.”
Jim is survived by his wife Mary; two brothers Mel and Elliott; his four children Sherri Routly, Lorri Kerr, Jim Mezzarobba and Elanna Silvester and their families; first wife and dear friend Dolores Mezzarobba; along with grandchildren Rylee, Mikayla, Blake, Evan, Colten, Elliott, Breanne and Myles; and his dear valued lifelong friend Uncle Fletch.
His memory will live on in the retelling of his larger than life stories.
Love you, Dad and Grandpa.
Rylee, Mikayla, Blake and Evan will forever miss you, Grandpa.
Forever in our thoughts.
