Like the birds he loved to watch soaring in the heavens, so Horst’s spirit has soared to God.

He leaves behind his cherished wife of 60 years Marianne; his beloved daughter Dominique (Clayton) Halverson; and the apple of his eye, his adored granddaughter Geneva.

Horst’s zest for life was as big as his heart, sense of humour, and personality. He was a man of faith and a man of many talents which he used for the enjoyment of others.

Special thanks for their outstanding care and compassion to the team at Poseidon Care Centre.

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Alphonsus church, 341 Munroe Ave.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to World Vision Canada.

We wanted to share our condolences with Horst’s family. It is never easy to have to say goodbye to a loved one. The pain of loss can be unbearable. Our Creator promises us that one day this pain will be just a memory. That beautiful promise can be found at Revelation 21:3,4. Our pain and suffering will be a thing of the past, and we can cry tears of joy as we welcome back the ones that we love so much. We hope you find comfort in those promises.
