In her earlier days, Helen was also known for her athletic skills, as a softball player and goalie in hockey. In 2005, mom was inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame as a member of the 1957-1962 CUAC Blues Senior Women Softball Team. She was a great fan of the Jets and Bombers too!
Gone is the face
we loved so dear
silent is the voice
we loved to hear
Too far away
for sight or speech
But not far
for thought to reach
Sweet to remember her
who once was here
And who, though absent,
is just as dear.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The CancerCare Manitoba, or a charity of your choice.
At Helen’s request, no service will be held.
